Pep Talk... Braveheart?
This week is VBS (Vacation Bible School) at my church. My older two get to go and play games, hear Bible stories, and hang out with their friends. They even get to play in a BOUNCY HOUSE! :D
The first day, I went to drop my kids off (Monday), I heard the first morning "pep talk" and the shouting of boys vs girls trying to out do the others volume. It was so fun watching all the kids get engaged and exciting for the week and the fun ahead.
In my head I envisioned a little bit of Braveheart where William Wallace rallies the troops before the big battle. I thought how empowering getting excited and engaged can be. I wish we had a Mommy Rally where we all got to yell and scream and get excited about motherhood. I would like a week full of games and lessons and hanging out... I'm chuckling a little bit to myself.
So why my girls are at VBS, I have the baby! I get to have ONE child for the week which is nice. The baby and I went on a walk and he "pushed" the stroller with me holding him. We went to town to do errands and visit daddy. We even ran into a fellow VBS Mama who was out at Marshall's with her baby for her "free time" and we got to chatting. It's been enjoyable.
So, as I sit here, sipping my second cup of coffee for the day (it's a cloudy July day and I'm feeling sleepy), I wanted to give you a little pep talk. A little Braveheart speech. You'll have to just envision my excited, passionate voice of encouragement as you read this:
